It’s so important when investigating how Web Broadcasting can benefit your organization.

Here are the key ones:
• Enhance your attendee experience with online presentation catalogs
• Reach a wider audience, making presentations available to those not able to attend
• Brand your presentations using your logos, colors and messages
• Capture multiple proceedings in different locations
• Review a real‐time record of what took place
• Link handout materials with the full presentation, including audio, video and graphics
• Offer sample content to entice new attendees to participate

Web Broadcasting Best Practice

By Robert Grossman · Comments (0)
Monday, May 18th, 2009

I know that choosing a webcast provider can sometimes be a daunting task. There are so many areas about the technology that need to be addressed.

Look for a webcast provider that makes the technology transparent to your presenters and allows them to present as they typically do. The webcast provider you select should be able to tap into existing audio-visual and video feeds already being sent to the projector to capture the presentation material. This avoids the awkwardness of installing software on presenters’ laptops or having them present from a computer. It also eliminates inconveniencing presenters for their presentations ahead of time and preventing them from making last minute changes. Click here to see what Focus Creative offers.

Video Continued . . .

By Robert Grossman · Comments (1)

As a marketing and branding tool, video can be used in a variety of different ways. It can be used to promote your event to future sponsors, and if you are an independent planner, to promote your company by showcasing your capabilities.

The demand for video in meetings and special events is rising as budgets are shrinking. Planning cycles are getting shorter and at the same time, your audience is demanding to be entertained. Most of these demands and expectations are falling squarely on the shoulders of event professionals. Teaming up with an experienced producer can save you tons of money, not only on the video, but on Excedrin as well!

The Role of Video

By Robert Grossman · Comments (0)
Monday, May 4th, 2009

We live in a world of instantaneous message relays, multimedia PDAs, cell phones and iPods. The attention span of audiences today is nearly half of what it was just a generation ago. No matter where you look, it seems you are bombarded by messages and fast-paced imagery – for example, watch any sporting event or local news broadcast. The amount of money being spent on graphics and the use of video is staggering.

As a meeting professional, finding ways to help your clients engage and re-engage your audiences is crucial. The “MTV generation” is sitting in your meeting room and they expect to be WOWed by stunning visuals and special effects. The era of long speeches and static presentations are over. Sound scary? Daunting? It doesn’t have to be. One of the answers to meeting your audiences’ and clients’ needs is video.

Eight Power Points!

By Robert Grossman · Comments (0)
Friday, May 1st, 2009

Here are 8 Power Points for great presentations:

1. Rehearse, Rehearse, and Rehearse. So many executives wing their presentations or prepare them on the plane. This leads to reading the slides and not truly engaging the audience.

2. Presentation slides are not speaker notes! If you read the slides to your audience, you might as well give them the hand outs and send them to go play golf.

3. Keep it simple! When using bullets, no more than 3 bullets per slides and no more than 5 words per bullet.

4. Bring up one point at a time. This allows you to control what the audience is reading. If you bring up all the bullets at one time, the audience will read to the bottom of the list while you are still talking about your first point.

5. Make slides big and bold. Think driving down the freeway at 65 miles an hour and reading billboards. Each message is clear and concise.

6. Use large fonts. I personally avoid anything smaller than 32 points.

7. Use animation sparingly or when you want to emphasize a particular point.

8. Avoid the trap of having a unique slide up for every part of your speech. Use your logo or theme slide.

PowerPoint is a wonderful tool when used properly. The 8 Power Points for great presentations is just the beginning. Master the presentation process and you will win more business in less time and move your audience to your desired outcome.
